Excel reports and timesheets with Planzone

Many of you requested this...so here it is! Upgrading from the previously available monthly Excel timesheets, you now have access to weekly and daily reports of your Planzone team.

Timesheets are a feature of Planzone that allow the Project Manager to see how much time members spend on each activity. Timesheets are available in the “Business” and “Enterprise” versions of Planzone, but you can also see and test them by opening a new trial version of Planzone.

eg: an Excel report. You can generate this report by going to "Desktop" / "My Reports" / "Use of Resources by Week in Planzone".

The first tab shows the input hours of all the Planzone members. This is the total time spent on Planzone. It is here that we can see if a member has been overworked or on the contrary, has had free time during a given week. We have added colour indicators so you can easily spot the weeks of overwork and the weeks with less work ie: an input of less than 35 hours/week will appear in blue and an input of over 50 hours/week appears in orange.

In the second tab you will see the distribution of input hours per project. You'll know which project has been the most time-consuming for each member of your Planzone. On the right-hand side we have added two columns that duplicate the names of members and their total input hours during the time period. These columns may seem redundant but those who are comfortable with Excel will find them very useful; they can be used to sort and filter data while maintaining the link between members and their associated activities.

We've also upgraded to include three new reports of a similar style.

- "Use of Resources by day in Planzone": This report is virtually the same as that described above differing only in that the times are no longer given in weeks but in days. You'll find it right next to the previous weekly report.

- "Use of Resources by week in a project": This report is only relevant for the project from which it is generated and there is no colour indicator of overload (superfluous at this scale) and is identical to the report of the example. You will find this report by going to "Project" / "Report" / " Use of Resources by week in a project”

- "Use of Resources by day in a project": This is simply the daily version of the previous report and is located right next to it.

These new reports are available in Planzone's "Business" and "Enterprise" versions but you can also try them out now by opening the new trial version of Planzone.

Regards from Paris and your Planzone Team

PS: Now you can input quarter hour intervals on your timesheet instead of only half-hour intervals.  Specifically, if you spent the day working on project "Alpha" from 9:45 to 18:00, you can enter 8,25 (or 8 hours and 15 mins) in your timesheet for project "Alpha". Instead of only being able to input 8 hours or 8,5 (8hours and 30 mins).
